James D. Carter
James Carter graduated and received his Bachelor Degree from Georgia Southern
University in 1983. In 1986, he earned his Juris Doctorate from Mercer
University. He relocated to Florida in 1987 and married his wife Kumiko, in
1995.
From 1986 through 1987 he worked with the Law Firm of Benton & Boyer,
P.A. in Macon, Georgia. That firm specialized in insurance defense. As such,
James gained invaluable knowledge and experience pertaining to the proper
handling of personal injury claims and civil jury trials at the outset of his
legal career.
In 1999, he established the Law Offices of James D. Carter and began to focus
even more attention to Personal Injury cases and Family Law. James
has handled thousands of cases throughout his career. He has made
recoveries ranging from a few thousand dollars for clients with minor injuries
to over $1million for clients with wrongful death claims. His competitive
spirit and strong desire to help others who are in need combine to make him a
powerful advocate for his clientele.
James is currently a member of the Florida and Georgia Bars, the Manatee
County Bar Association, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the American Bar
Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the American
Judicature Society.
